Gabriel Currie (b. 2004, New York, New York) is a painter and textile artist based in Boston. Through manipulation of light, color, and atmosphere, he seeks to emulate the emotional affect and transience of ordinary places and objects. His work reflects upon the spiritual and sentimental connections between location, history, and the self. He draws inspiration from the aesthetics and imagery of historical art and craft, the narrative power of architecture, and peaceful, solitary nighttime walks.
Currie is currently pursuing his BFA at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and is set to graduate in 2027.
